Switching to an MVP Medicare Plan
If you are looking for a Medicare plan to better fit your lifestyle, or if you are looking to lower your costs, you can switch to another Medicare plan. This is typically done during the open enrollment period of October 15 through December 7 each year. When choosing a Medicare plan, it’s important to compare costs — not only your monthly premiums, but the TOTAL COST of your coverage. This includes co-payments and other out-of-pocket charges for which you are responsible.
For instance, if a certain plan has a low monthly premium but a high co-payment for prescriptions and hospital stays, it may end up costing you more than a plan with a higher monthly premium!
Take a close look at the benefits of each plan and add up all your estimated costs over a one-year period. Then compare these costs to help find the right plan for your needs.
Open enrollment is the only time you can switch Medicare plans, unless certain life events have occurred.
