Use the Benefits Mastercard® Prepaid Card (Prepaid Benefits Card) from our partner, NationsBenefits®, to buy eligible items at some stores. Participating retail locations include:
- CVS Pharmacy®
- Dollar General®
- Price Chopper®
- Walgreens®
- Walmart®
Sales tax may apply to some items.
Please note: The Prepaid Benefits Card is not a credit card, and it cannot be used at an ATM or to receive cash back or to buy prescription drugs, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, or gift cards. The card comes pre-loaded with the benefit allowance, but it must be activated before use.
How it Works
Effective January 1, 2026, all MVP DualAccess members will be eligible for a $25 monthly OTC Allowance. Please note: You must use your allowance by the end of each month. It does not roll over.
Some MVP DualAccess members may be able to receive an additional allowance* to help pay for OTC items, groceries or utility bills. Along with additional eligibility requirements regarding recent care, you must be diagnosed with one of the seven chronic conditions to qualify.
*Not all plan members will qualify for this benefit in 2026. The benefits mentioned are part of special supplemental benefits for MVP Medicare Advantage members living with cancer, cardiovascular disorders, chronic heart failure, dementia, diabetes, chronic lung disorders and chronic and disabling mental health conditions. A chronic condition alone does not guarantee eligibility. All applicable eligibility requirements must be met before the benefits are provided. You can purchase OTC items directly from the NationsBenefits Catalog, in your NationsBenefits online account, or in the Benefits Pro™ App. You can use the Nations Benefits Catalog to discover what kinds of products are eligible to purchase from NationsBenefits with your benefit, but products may vary in retail locations. Use the app to scan a product barcode while you are in a participating retail location to see if you can buy it with your allowance.

If you are new to an MVP Medicare Advantage plan, you receive your Prepaid Benefits Card in the mail from NationsBenefits. You will need to activate your card before you use it.
If you received a card to use last year, you can continue to use it. It will automatically update with your new allowance amount. Learn more about the Prepaid Benefits Card.
If you need to request a new Prepaid Benefits Card, sign in to your account at MVP.NationsBenefits.com and select Manage Card, then Replace Card Request. In the app, tap Flex Card and Replace Card.

You will not receive a PIN or Security Code. You should not need either of these to use your card to make purchases.

Members can activate their card in one of the following ways:

- Log in to their personalized Benefits Pro Portal at MVP.NationsBenefits.com/Activate
- Scan the QR code provided on the materials that arrived with the new card.

The card balance is available in your Benefits Pro Portal account at MVP.NationsBenefits.com, in the Benefits Pro App, or by calling NationsBenefits at 1-855-996-4327 (TTY 711). A member of the Care Team can also help members check the balance.

You cannot use this card to get cash, or to buy foods such as soda, chips, cookies, or ice cream. You also cannot use it to buy prescription drugs, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, or gift cards.
